Ball Mill

Introduction

Ball mill becomes the core equipment for grinding after the materials have been crushed. It has been widely used for crushing, grinding and pelleting many kinds of materials, such as mining, cement, silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, fertilizer, ferrous and non-ferrous metal beneficiation and glass ceramic and so on.

Ball mills include feeder, discharger, rotary portion and transmission division (reduction gears, pinion gear, motor, electrical control).

Ball mill machine can be classified into dry ball mill and wet ball mill. During the running of wet ball mill, some water and liquid should be added in materials to increase liquidity and production capacity. When you use dry ball mill, liquidity is reduced and production capacity is affected. So an air-inducing device should be installed at the discharger of ball mill. By this way, negative pressure will be produced in the cylinder of ball mill to increase liquidity and production capacity.

Three Methods of Improving the Output of Ball Mill:

1. Installing a fine crusher in ball mill;

2. Improving milling system of ball mill to increase grinding efficiency;

3. Installing high efficiency separator.

The Application of Ball Mill in Ore Beneficiation Process:

Ball mill is widely used in mine enterprises, like gold, copper, iron ore, phosphate rock, lead, zinc and germanium ore. Raw mineral will be send to ball mill after reasonable crushed. Then materials will be crushed and grinded by ball mills. At last, the ore fines will be expected to enter the next process: classification.

The Application of Ball Mill in Concrete Equipment:

Coal ash (or sand and mountain flour) is crushed and grinded to required granularity. Then the finished materials can be sent to store in the paint pot.

Principle

Materials evenly go into the first cabin of the ball mill machine through the feeder machine, and inside the first cabin, there are ladder lining boards or ripple lining board in which there are many steel balls with different specifications. The cylinder rotates and produces eccentric force to bring the steel balls to a certain height, and then the steel balls will fall down to impact and grind the materials. After being coarsely ground in the first cabin, the materials will go through the single-layer partition board and into the secondary cabin in which there are flat lining board, and in the lining board there are steel balls to further grind the materials. Finally the powdery materials will be discharged from the discharging grating bar to complete the powder grinding process.
