Flotation Cell

Introduction

Flotation cell is a kind of equipment for completing flotation process, and it is the core equipment in ore beneficiation line. Flotation machine is widely used for rough flotation, secondary flotation and reverse flotation of copper, lead, zinc, nickel, molybdenum and other non-ferrous metals; ferrous metals, precious metals and non-metallic minerals (such as fluorite and TALC). In the world, more than 90% nonferrous metals and more than 50% ferrous metal and minerals should be processed by flotation method.

The structures of different flotation cells are different, but today, the most commonly used is mechanical agitation flotation machine.

The Selection of Flotation Process

The selection of flotation process depends on the nature of the ore and the quality requirements on concentrate.

The Use and Maintenance of Flotation Cell

1. All working portion should be carried out a careful check each 3-4 months.

2. A full set of wearing parts should be reserved in a warehouse for the timely replacement of wearing parts to reduce downtime.

3. All aspects of technical support or training for flotation machine operators are necessary.

4. Refuel the flotation separator with grease filter, and when the flotation machine works, the oil covers should be sealed.

5. The starting order is: switch on the upper gate, press the Start button.

6. After starting the flotation cell, touching the rotating parts with hands or other things is strictly prohibited.

Principle

This machine runs by the triangle belt of the electrical motor driving the impellor to rotate, producing centrifugal effect which will form negative pressure, and on one hand it will absorb sufficient air in order to mix with the pulp, and on the other hand it will mix the pulp in order to mix with the reagents, and at the same time will refine the foam in order to stick the minerals onto the foam, and float on the surface of the pulp in order to become mineralization foam. The workers can adjust the height of the flashboard and control the liquid level in order to scrap the useful foam.
